The Qatar Sports for All Federation, under the umbrella of the Ministry of Sports and Youth, and in collaboration with the Winter Sports Committee, launched a new training program as part of the “Summer Sports for All 2025” initiative. This initiative includes a range of new and diverse activities offered at youth centers, sports clubs, swimming pools, fields, and public parks, and runs until August 7, with the participation of more than 27 government ministries and institutions.

The Ali Bin Hamad Al Attiyah Arena hosted the launch of the ice skating and stick-handling training sessions dedicated to children aged 7 to 16. The sessions, which began at noon yesterday and continued until 2:00 PM, saw enthusiastic participation from both boys and girls. Participants expressed their joy at learning new skills under the supervision of qualified instructors.

The program aims to continue offering training in ice skating and stick-handling in the coming days. Abdullah Al-Dosari, Executive Director of the Federation, emphasized the importance of offering diverse activities through the “Summer Sports for All 2025” program, which seeks to promote physical activity, encourage youth engagement during summer break, and help children discover and develop new talents.

This initiative introduces young participants to a non-traditional sport in a safe and well-equipped environment, helping them explore new experiences and develop physical abilities. It also seeks to foster emerging athletic talent in youth and children.

The arena also hosted a large number of families as part of the wider summer program held at Lusail Sports Arena, which features six weeks of activities split into three phases. These include a variety of exercises such as speed and strength drills, educational and cultural workshops, nutrition and health awareness, martial arts like Muay Thai, self-defense training, and Tai Chi, along with stretching, flexibility, and coordination sessions.

The activities also involve awareness campaigns on important topics such as health, positive behavior, and child safety, all aimed at improving knowledge and fostering a supportive environment for personal development.

In addition to ice skating, the summer program includes swimming lessons at Al Arabi and Al Wakrah clubs, football drills, and Muay Thai sessions at youth centers and sports clubs. It also runs alongside the “10,000 Steps Challenge,” which is being held across seven malls throughout Qatar and has attracted significant interest from walking enthusiasts.

The program delivers an integrated and engaging summer experience for all age groups and families, aligned with national strategic objectives that promote a healthy, active lifestyle and reinforce the role of sports in community well-being.

By offering diverse and inclusive activities, the initiative aims to bring families together, encourage children to be active, and provide a fun, safe, and recreational environment for all throughout the summer break.
