The Al Dana Girls Center with the representation of the Ministry of Sports and Youth organized the effectiveness of returning to schools for Celiac children in partnership with the Qatar Society to raise awareness of Celiac, with the help of Mrs. Wadha Al-Jaber, the Director of AlDana Girls Centre and Deputy Mrs. Haya Ayed AlShammeri, who started the event along with several of the center’s employees and parents.
Al-Jaber emphasized the concern of the AlDana Center to raise the self-awareness of girls in various fields and to engage in partnerships with several relevant state ambassadors.
Mrs. Jawaher Al Marri, Head of the Center’s Activities and Programs Department, pointed out the importance of educational workshops that bring together sick girls with their mothers in a stimulating, captive atmosphere.
Mrs. Moza Al-Buainain, Chairman of the Association’s Board of Directors, indicated that “celiac disease” is a disease resulting from the body’s immune system’s reaction to the gluten protein found in food made from wheat, barley, rye, and oats. She pointed out that the number of children currently registered with the association is 60 of whom include citizens and residents of the State of Qatar.
