The Youth Committee at Al Wakrah Sports Club, in cooperation with Lusail University, organized an educational lecture titled “Mental Health in Islam” as part of the series of educational and awareness lectures and workshops accompanying the summer activities, with the participation of members of “Nawakheth Summer” and female participants in “Danat Al Janoub Summer.”

The lecture, delivered by Lusail University students Fatima Mahmoud Jadoa, Maria Am Al-Azam, and Ashwaq Al-Asiri, under the supervision of Dr. Amani Al-Barazi, targeted 80 male and female participants, including 40 young men and 40 young women.

The lecture focused on the concept of mental health from an Islamic perspective, highlighting the balanced approach established by Islam in achieving psychological peace and emotional stability by strengthening one’s connection with God Almighty and reinforcing the faith-based and moral values that help individuals face life’s challenges and pressures.

The lecture also addressed the role of acts of worship, particularly prayer, remembrance, supplication, and recitation of the Holy Quran, in promoting peace of mind and reducing anxiety, while highlighting the importance of patience, reliance on God, and having a good opinion of God when dealing with crises, thereby contributing to building a balanced personality characterized by hope and contentment.

The lecture reviewed a number of contemporary psychological issues and their effects on individuals and society, emphasizing the importance of taking appropriate measures and seeking specialized psychological treatment and counseling when needed, within an approach that achieves integration between the spiritual and psychological aspects.

The lecture comes as part of the Youth Committee at Al Wakrah Sports Club’s commitment to implementing awareness programs that enrich the summer activities, contribute to raising participants’ level of awareness, enhancing quality of life, and reinforcing Islamic values that support psychological stability and social cohesion.
