Al Rayyan Youth Club organized an “Arabic Calligraphy” workshop in collaboration with Hamad Bin Jassim Secondary School for Boys. The workshop aimed to familiarize participants with the tools of Arabic calligraphy, such as coated and polished paper, ink, cutting knives, and reed pens. It also sheds light on the stages of preparing and refining these tools, as well as the proper technique of using the reed pen at a specific angle to write along the baseline according to the proportional measurements of Arabic letters based on the dot system. Participants practiced writing individual letters and compositions, concluding with sentences and names.

Mr. Faisal Al Hammadi stated that the workshop provides participants with an opportunity to explore the fundamentals of Arabic calligraphy and apply the techniques involved in crafting it. Key topics covered in the workshop included an introduction to Arabic calligraphy, a historical overview of this art form, a detailed explanation of the process of making traditional Arabic ink, and an exploration of the types and rules of Arabic calligraphy.
