The General Assembly of Al Rayyan Sports Club elected His Excellency Sheikh Al-Qaqa bin Hamad Al Thani as President of the club until 2030, with Ali Salem Afifa elected as Vice President.

The elections took place during the club’s ordinary General Assembly meeting, which was held with a fully established quorum and attended by representatives of the Ministry of Sports and Youth and active club members.

The General Assembly reviewed the Board of Directors’ report on the club’s sporting activities for the 2025–2026 season. Members praised the club’s achievements in football, particularly its historic victory in the Gulf Champions League, which Al Rayyan won for the first time in its history, in addition to its achievements across other sporting disciplines.

The General Assembly also approved the minutes of the previous meeting and endorsed the sporting activity plan for the upcoming season.

Al Rayyan finished last season in third place in the Qatar Football League (Doha Bank Stars League), earning qualification for the AFC Champions League Two.

The club will begin its new season by facing Lusail Club in the opening round of the league next Thursday. Al Rayyan will also compete in Group C of the AFC Champions League Two, alongside Saudi Arabia’s Al Taawoun, Jordan’s Al Faisaly, and Oman’s Al Nahda.
