Under the umbrella of the Ministry of Sports and Youth, Al-Dana Girls Center organized the “International Youth Day Seminar” as part of the celebration of International Youth Day. This event was held in collaboration with the Ministry of Social Development and Family and the Doha Institute for Graduate Studies, at the cultural building of the Doha Institute.

 

The seminar was moderated by Mr. Mohammed Abu Ramadan, Assistant Professor in the Public Administration Program at the Doha Institute for Graduate Studies. The session covered several topics and themes, with various professors and experts contributing their insights.

 

In the first segment, Dr. Mousa Alaya Al-Omari discussed “Governance for Re-innovating Government,” concluding with several recommendations, the most notable of which were involving youth and activating the private sector in governance. The second segment was presented by Dr. Khalid Ahmed Abdul-Jabbar, who focused on “Exposures, the Emergence of Mental Disorders, Addiction Disorders, and Their Impact on Development.”

 

Mrs. Wadha Nasser Al-Jabr, Head of Al-Dana Girls Center, emphasized that the world is currently celebrating International Youth Day this year with the aim of highlighting the digital pathways of youth for sustainable development and raising awareness about the role of digitization and modern technology in transforming our world and offering unprecedented opportunities to accelerate sustainable development.

 

During the seminar, Mrs. Haya Al-Shammari, Deputy Head of Al-Dana Center, discussed “The Importance of Youth Participation in Youth Centers and Non-Governmental Organizations.” She emphasized the importance of Amiri Decision No. 57 of 2021, which outlines the competencies of ministries, particularly highlighting the role of the Ministry of Sports and Youth in “promoting youth development and enhancing their capabilities.”
