Al Dana Center for Girls, an affiliate of the Ministry of Sports and Youth, officially launched the first activities of its 2026 Summer Camp on Sunday evening under the theme “A Summer to Enjoy… United by Awareness.” The opening coincided with the celebration of Arab Youth Day and attracted more than 50 girls and young participants, reflecting strong engagement and enthusiasm.

Speaking at the opening, Ms. Wadha Nasser Al Jaber, Head of Al Dana Center for Girls, emphasized that launching the summer camp alongside Arab Youth Day reflects the Ministry of Sports and Youth’s commitment to investing in young people’s potential and creating platforms that enable them to express their ideas while developing their intellectual and research capabilities. She noted that the initiative aligns with Qatar National Vision 2030 and the objectives of the National Youth Policy, which aim to build a knowledge-based and innovative society.

Al Jaber said: “We began our activities today with great enthusiasm to strengthen the role of girls in national development and promote a culture of constructive dialogue. We invite everyone to follow our social media platforms to experience our daily activities and register for our upcoming programs.”

The opening program featured a variety of enriching activities, beginning with an interactive workshop titled “From Dialogue to Change… Youth Voices Create Impact,” presented by trainer Hessa Al Nasr under the supervision of Aisha Al Marri and Shahad Al Khanji. Designed for young participants, the workshop focused on fostering constructive dialogue, strengthening awareness of national responsibility, and encouraging the development of positive community initiatives.

The event also included a mini scientific research exhibition, showcasing projects shortlisted in the center’s Scientific Research Competition, which focused on the themes of the National Youth Policy. The competition was launched specifically for Arab Youth Day to encourage critical thinking and attract innovative ideas addressing youth-related issues. The shortlisted research projects were presented before a judging panel ahead of selecting and honoring the top three winners.

The event concluded with an interactive discussion session highlighting inspiring youth experiences and success stories. Participants exchanged ideas on the role of youth centers in creating meaningful community impact and empowering young people to become active contributors to society.

Reaffirming the center’s vision, Ms. Wadha Nasser Al Jaber stated that youth centers have the ability to create lasting impact by providing opportunities for young people to grow, innovate, and contribute to national development. She noted that the summer camp reflects this commitment through dialogue sessions, scientific research initiatives, and programs that align with Qatar National Vision 2030.

Jawaher Al Marri, Program and Projects Coordinator at Al Dana Center, said the summer program had begun with great passion and enthusiasm and includes a wide range of engaging and enriching workshops. She invited young people to join the center and take part in its upcoming activities.

Sheikha Al Shamali also highlighted the significance of launching the camp under the theme “A Summer to Enjoy… United by Awareness.” She explained that the opening dialogue session aims to highlight the role of youth in development, empower young people, promote dialogue and the exchange of experiences, and inspire community participation and innovation. She added that the scientific research exhibition encourages research, critical thinking, and innovative solutions to community challenges, while inviting the public to follow the center’s social media channels and register for future programs.

Meanwhile, Dana Al Saadi, a volunteer at the Dana Center and a member of its Advisory Committee, described Arab Youth Day as a celebration of the ideas and initiatives that shape the future. She noted that the Dana Center strongly believes in empowering youth and showcasing their talents, citing her own initiative, Rasana, which aims to support deaf students in accessing higher education, promote their integration into universities, and raise awareness of their right to education.
