Under the representation of the Ministry of Sports and Youth, the Qatar Sports for All Federation announced the organization of the first Squash Championship, scheduled from 7–18 September at the Westin Doha Hotel & Resort. The tournament will follow a Round Robin format across two levels, A and B, allowing players of different abilities to enjoy multiple matches in a competitive and family-friendly atmosphere, with strong encouragement from friends and spectators.
This new initiative builds on the outstanding success of Summer Sport for All 2025, which became a fully integrated community platform, attracting more than 32,000 participants across eight weeks. The program delivered over 180 diverse activities in 130 different venues, including sports halls, club fields, youth centers, schools, and public parks.
The summer presented an unprecedented variety of programs, organized in cooperation with 27 ministries, institutions, and organizations—a unique model of community collaboration designed to promote healthy lifestyles and encourage all segments of society, particularly children, to practice sports in a safe and engaging environment. Among the highlights were the children’s sports camp at Lusail Hall, swimming courses at clubs and youth centers, Muay Thai self-defense training, step-count challenges in malls, track races, and women’s evenings at Education City. The overwhelming demand even led families to request an extension of two additional weeks.
Mr. Abdullah Al-Dosari, Executive Director of the Qatar Sports for All Federation, affirmed that the Squash Championship is one of the new and distinctive activities featured in the Federation’s 2025 calendar of more than 750 events, aimed at diversifying sports and recreational opportunities to meet the ambitions of all community members. He described the initiative as a continuation of an exceptional summer that combined entertainment, competition, and health awareness, contributing to building a more active and vibrant generation.
Al-Dosari further emphasized that this variety of sports activities reflects the Ministry of Sports and Youth’s strategic vision to spread a culture of sports participation through innovative programs that motivate the community to remain engaged year-round. He also underscored the importance of investing not only in summer vacations but throughout the entire year to promote physical activity and positive habits.
He concluded by highlighting that the record turnout of more than 32,000 participants demonstrates the community’s trust in the Federation’s programs. “This summer we expanded to deliver more than 180 activities in response to parents’ demand for a safe and enriching environment for their children. With the continued support of partners and families, Sport for All will continue to deliver impactful, year-round initiatives for every age group,” Al-Dosari concluded.
