Under the representation of the Ministry of Sports and Youth, the swimming pools of Al-Arabi Sports Club are welcoming even more children in an atmosphere filled with energy, challenge, and enthusiasm. This comes as part of the summer swimming program organized by the Qatar Sports for All Federation, an extension of the highly successful Summer Sport for All 2025, which engaged over 32,000 participants through more than 180 diverse activities held across 130 venues—including sports halls, club fields, youth centers, schools, and public parks—with the participation of 27 ministries and institutions. The program targeted all segments of society, with special focus on children and students, as part of a broader vision to promote a culture of community sports during the summer season.

Following eight weeks of intensive training at Al-Arabi, Al-Wakrah, and Al-Jumayliyah Youth Center, the ninth week at Al-Arabi Sports Club has witnessed remarkable turnout from children and their families. Parents were keen to accompany their children, creating a family-oriented atmosphere filled with encouragement and joy, all within a safe environment under the supervision of professional coaches.

In response to parents’ demand, Al-Arabi has continued opening its pools for children aged 7 to 12, providing them with extended opportunities to benefit from high-quality training. This initiative reflects the Federation’s commitment to expanding the program to reach the widest possible number of participants.

Mr. Abdullah Al-Dosari, Executive Director of the Qatar Sports for All Federation, highlighted that Al-Arabi Sports Club is continuing the training sessions for boys with an additional week beyond the official summer program. He emphasized that the interaction and encouragement from families, combined with the enthusiasm of the children, demonstrate the program’s success in unlocking young talents, boosting self-confidence, and promoting physical fitness and healthy lifestyles. Many children showed impressive skills and rapid progress in swimming techniques, while their parents proudly observed their development.

According to Al-Dosari, the intensive training sessions—held from Sunday to Wednesday between 3:00 and 4:00 p.m.—offer children a perfect opportunity to invest their summer break by learning essential swimming skills, building fitness, and embracing an active lifestyle with the full support of their families.

He described the summer swimming program, held at various club pools and youth centers, as a successful initiative that has promoted community sports culture, nurtured promising talents, and prepared a new generation ready to face challenges with confidence, all within a summer environment filled with fun and benefits.

Parents and participants alike expressed their wish for the program to continue year-round, praising its positive physical and psychological impact on children. They affirmed that the program has helped enhance their children’s fitness while instilling a love for sports from an early age.

What distinguishes this program is that it goes beyond teaching basic swimming skills. It offers a comprehensive training and educational environment aimed at developing young talents, building a strong athletic generation, and ensuring meaningful use of children’s free time during the summer holidays. By focusing on swimming—a sport highly valued by families—the program continues to advance the Federation’s mission of embedding and spreading the culture of sports across Qatari society.
