A new edition of the track race series, organized by the Qatar Sports for All Federation under the umbrella of the Ministry of Sports and Youth, will launch tomorrow morning (Friday) at Aspire’s indoor running track. The event is expected to host over 400 male and female participants from various age groups.

The race is part of the Summer Sports for All 2025 program, which continues its activities across stadiums, sports halls, clubs, youth centers, public parks, and schools. The program involves many government ministries, institutions, authorities, and commercial centers, and runs until August 7. It aims to promote a healthy lifestyle and encourage all segments of society, especially children and students, to keep active during the summer break.

The race will start at 8:00 AM and continue until 9:00 AM, with different time categories: 15 to 30 minutes for adults (17 years and older), 10 minutes for juniors (7 to 17 years), and 5-minute races for young children (3 to 6 years). This variety allows more participants to compete, and the winner will be the one who completes the most laps, ensuring fair and inclusive competition.

Abdullah Al-Dosari, Executive Director of the Qatar Sports for All Federation, confirmed that growing demand for summer sports events led the Federation to add two new rounds to the four-track race series held in June, which saw significant family participation and exciting competition. Tomorrow’s race is expected to attract over 400 runners from all age groups. Al-Dosari added that registration remains open for the second race early next month through the Sports for All app.

He explained that the track race series aims to provide air-conditioned, suitable venues that encourage ongoing participation in running races, which the Federation organizes year-round for all community members. These events support the Federation’s efforts to increase sports participation and make such races part of people’s daily activities.

Al-Dosari also highlighted that this summer running event is a valuable addition to the summer calendar, which includes a variety of activities like the Sports for All summer camp for children at Lusail Sports Hall, swimming lessons at clubs and youth centers, Muay Thai training at 10 youth centers and clubs, as well as marine and winter sports and a mall walking program. He emphasized that all these activities align with the Ministry of Sports and Youth’s vision and plans to spread the culture of sports through attractive, purposeful programs that motivate community members to engage positively with sports and social activities.
