The Qatar Olympic Committee, represented by the Sports Events Department, today held a ceremony to honor the participants of the second edition of the “Al Adaam Summer 2026” program, which is dedicated to the sons and daughters of QOC employees. The ceremony was held at the Lusail Hall at the Committee’s headquarters, in the presence of H.E. Mr. Jassim bin Rashid Al Buenain, Secretary General of the Qatar Olympic Committee, Sheikh Khalifa bin Khalid Al Thani, Director of the Sports Sector, along with a number of officials, representatives of sports federations, members of the organizing committee, and the participants’ parents and families.

The ceremony featured a welcome speech and video presentations showcasing highlights from the program’s activities, followed by the honoring of participants in recognition of their engagement and participation in the program.

The ceremony marked the successful conclusion of the second edition of the program, which was held from June 28 to July 9, 2026, targeting children between the ages of 8 and 12. A total of 57 participants took part, including 30 boys and 27 girls, in a variety of sports and recreational activities.

The activities aimed to develop the participants’ personal skills, introduce them to Olympic and sporting values, and encourage them to practice sports and adopt a healthy lifestyle. A volunteer category was also dedicated to young people between the ages of 16 and 18.

The program forms part of the Qatar Olympic Committee’s Strategic Plan (2023–2030), which seeks to strengthen the role of families in encouraging children to participate in sports, expand the sporting participation base, and establish sports as an integral part of daily life.

On this occasion, H.E. Mr. Jassim bin Rashid Al Buanain, Secretary General of the Qatar Olympic Committee, emphasized that the “Al Adaam Summer” program reflects the QOC’s commitment to providing an encouraging environment for children and young people, allowing them to discover their talents and develop their abilities, while instilling values of discipline, perseverance, teamwork, and positive competition.

He said: “We are proud of the success achieved by the program and of the discipline, commitment, and positive behavior demonstrated by the participants, which contributed to the success of its various activities and highlighted the importance of quality sports programs in building character and promoting sporting values.”

He also praised the outstanding role played by the young volunteers, who are children of Qatar Olympic Committee employees, stressing that their active participation in organizing events, welcoming participants, and managing competitions and daily activities helped develop their sense of responsibility and strengthen their spirit of initiative and teamwork. Their contribution also played a tangible role in the success of the program, providing an important experience in instilling the values of volunteer work and leadership, while strengthening their connection to the sporting community.

He added: “The ‘Al Adaam Summer’ program represents an important platform for developing the abilities of the sons and daughters of QOC employees, discovering promising talents and nurturing their potential, in support of the Committee’s efforts to promote sports culture and enhance community participation.”

He noted that the program’s success confirms the importance of continuing such initiatives and developing them further, contributing to the preparation of an aware and active generation equipped with the skills and values that support a journey of sporting achievement and excellence.

The program’s organizing committee expressed its sincere thanks and appreciation to the supporting and collaborating entities whose cooperation played a key role in the program’s success. These included the Qatar Stars League, the Qatar Bowling Federation, the Qatar Police Sports Federation, the Qatar Shooting and Archery Association, Perf Up Center, and the 3-2-1 Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum.

The organizing committee also extended its thanks to the program’s official sponsors, who embodied the true meaning of partnership through their active and sustainable support, most notably Al Rukn Sports Company and Al Jazeera Perfumes. A special segment was dedicated during the ceremony to honoring these entities in recognition of their valuable contributions, which directly contributed to the success and distinction of the event.

For their part, a number of parents expressed their appreciation to the Qatar Olympic Committee for this innovative initiative, which combined entertainment and education and enriched their children’s holiday with a positive and motivating environment. They affirmed that the program helped boost the children’s self-confidence and allowed them to discover their talents and passions in a safe and professional environment.
