The Qatar Scientific Club, affiliated with the Ministry of Sports and Youth, concluded the activities of the “Young Inventors” program, launched by the Club as part of the implementation phase of the Ministry of Sports and Youth’s initiative introduced during Web Summit Qatar 2026. The program aims to discover and develop young people’s capabilities in innovation and invention and empower them to transform their creative ideas into projects and prototypes that can be further developed and implemented.

The program brought together 35 young men and women interested in science, technology, and innovation. Throughout its three stages, participants took part in a comprehensive practical experience that enabled them to develop their scientific and technical skills, strengthen their abilities in creative thinking, problem-solving, and teamwork, and ultimately transform innovative ideas into practical projects.

The participants successfully developed seven innovative projects that reached the prototype development stage after completing a series of training and practical phases covering design thinking, idea generation and development, feasibility studies, engineering design, selection of appropriate materials and components, prototype manufacturing, technical testing, and the necessary improvements.

The program provided participants with an integrated scientific and practical environment at the Qatar Scientific Club, where they benefited from laboratories, manufacturing workshops, and modern technical equipment, in addition to technical consultations and guidance. This helped them translate their ideas into tangible prototypes that demonstrated their ability to innovate, design, and implement.

At the conclusion of the program, the innovative projects developed by the participants were presented, reflecting the knowledge and skills they had acquired throughout the program and their ability to transform innovative ideas into prototypes and projects with potential for further development and implementation. The Qatar Scientific Club also invited a number of Qatari inventors and innovators to attend and view the outcomes of the first cohort of the “Young Inventors” program and learn more about the ideas and projects developed by the participants. The distinguished guests expressed their admiration for the advanced level demonstrated by the young inventors and for the creativity, innovation, and problem-solving capabilities reflected in their projects. They emphasized that the participants’ achievements represent a promising beginning to an innovative journey that can contribute to developing a new generation of Qatari innovators and strengthening the culture of invention and innovation within society.

Eng. Aisha Al Jaber, Director of the “Young Inventors” Program, emphasized that the achievements of the program represented an important and enriching experience for the participants, expressing her great pride in the efforts and accomplishments of the young inventors throughout the various stages of the program.

She said: “We are proud of what the young inventors have achieved throughout this journey and of their commitment to the different stages of the program and their determination to give their best at every stage of the work. Throughout the program, we witnessed a strong sense of responsibility, determination, and a genuine desire to learn and develop, which was clearly reflected in the projects they have now brought to the prototype development stage.”

She added: “The result we see today through these seven projects is clear evidence of our young people’s ability to embrace challenges, address problems in innovative ways, and transform ideas into practical and impressive solutions and prototypes. None of this would have been possible without the participants’ commitment, dedication, and belief in their abilities. At the Qatar Scientific Club, we are proud of what they have accomplished and hope this experience will be the first step in a long journey toward further innovation and invention.”

She noted that the program was not limited to technical and practical aspects, but also contributed to developing a range of skills and capabilities that young people need for their future careers, particularly creative thinking, teamwork, planning, engineering design, problem-solving, and the ability to develop ideas and use feedback and experimentation to achieve better results.

Eng. Aisha Al Jaber affirmed that the Qatar Scientific Club remains committed to providing an inspiring environment for creative young people and giving them opportunities to gain practical experience that helps them discover and develop their potential. This contributes to establishing a culture of innovation and invention and supports Qatar’s vision of building a knowledge- and creativity-based economy.

The “Young Inventors” program forms part of the Qatar Scientific Club’s efforts to support young talent and capabilities in science, technology, and innovation, while strengthening the role of young people as active partners in the national development journey. This is achieved through specialized programs that combine training, knowledge, and practical application, giving participants the opportunity to transform their ideas into innovative projects with potential for further development.

In light of the success achieved by the first cohort of the “Young Inventors” program and the strong interest and participation it received from Qatari youth, the Qatar Scientific Club is preparing to launch the second cohort of the program during September. The initiative aims to give a larger number of young Qataris the opportunity to benefit from this unique experience and expand participation in programs focused on innovation and invention. This will contribute to discovering more young talents, refining their skills, and empowering them to develop innovative ideas and projects that serve the community and align with Qatar’s future aspirations.
