The U-19 General Basketball League for the 2026-2027 sports season got underway yesterday with two matches in the opening round at the Federation Hall. Al Sadd made a strong start by defeating Al Khor 90-35, in a match where they clearly dominated the course of play. In the second match, Al Arabi defeated Al Wakrah 74-57, taking an early advantage despite Al Wakrah’s improved performance in the final period.

The first-round action continues on Monday, September 21, with two matches at the Federation Hall. Al Shamal will face Qatar SC at 5:00 p.m., while the second match will see Al Ahli take on Al Rayyan at 6:30 p.m.

In the second round, Qatar SC will face Al Wakrah on Monday, September 28, at 5:00 p.m., while the second match will feature Al Rayyan against Al Shamal at 6:30 p.m.

The third round will get underway on November 3, with Al Wakrah facing Al Rayyan, while the second match will see Al Khor take on Qatar SC. The third-round fixtures will continue on November 10, with Al Gharafa facing Al Arabi, while Al Shamal will meet Al Ahli.

The fourth round will be played over two days, with Al Rayyan facing Al Khor on Monday, November 16, while Al Ahli will take on Al Wakrah. The fourth round will conclude on November 23 with two matches, the first between Qatar SC and Al Gharafa, while Al Arabi will face Al Sadd.
