The general Al-Laqaya category races for camel owners from the tribes concluded on the ninth day of the First Local Purebred Arabian Camel Racing Event for the 2026–2027 season, organized by the Camel Racing Committee and continuing until September 18. The event has attracted significant participation from enthusiasts of this traditional sport.

The First Local Camel Racing Event is being held over 12 consecutive days, exclusively during the morning period. Five days are dedicated to camels owned by Their Excellencies the Sheikhs, followed by seven days for camels owned by members of the tribes.

The fourth day of competitions for camel owners from the tribes featured strong competition across the various races. The general Al-Laqaya races over a distance of 4 kilometers concluded with 30 races, including 17 races for Al-Laqaya Bakr and 13 races for Al-Laqaya Qa’adan.

In the main first race for Al-Laqaya Bakr (Open), Mansoura, owned by Salem Jaber Mohsen Al Marri, took first place with a time of 6:08.94. Al Nahda, owned by Ali Ahmed Ali Al Ketbi, finished second with a time of 6:10.21, while Al Hadhera, owned by Saeed Obaid Saeed Rashdan, took third place with a time of 6:14.05.

In the main first race for Al-Laqaya Qa’adan (Open), Mukaafeh, owned by Saleh Mohammed Bajad Al Nabit, claimed first place with a time of 6:05.31. Karrar, owned by Jaber Salem Jaber Al Marri, finished second with a time of 6:11.43, while Qasour, owned by Ali Hamad Abdullah Al Quraisi, came third with a time of 6:11.83.

The tenth day of the First Local Camel Racing Event will continue tomorrow, Wednesday, featuring the general Al-Jatha’a category races over a distance of 4 kilometers. A total of 30 races will be held, including 17 races for Al-Jatha’a Bakr and 13 races for Al-Jatha’a Qa’adan.
