The Organizing Committee of the 4th Gulf Games – Doha 2026 unveiled the official logo of the Games during a ceremony held at the Old Doha Port, in the presence of several members of the organizing committee, representatives of sports federations, and media representatives.

The concept of the official logo for the 4th Gulf Games – Doha 2026 is inspired by the palm tree, one of the most prominent symbols deeply rooted in the environment and heritage of the Gulf region. The palm tree reflects the shared values of Gulf societies, including resilience, endurance, generosity, patience, and a strong connection to the land—values that have shaped Gulf identity across generations.

The logo consists of six palm fronds representing the member states of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). These fronds are presented in a modern visual style with flowing lines that express the sporting spirit of the Games. The harmonious arrangement of the fronds creates a visual negative space at the center in the shape of the number (4), directly symbolizing the fourth edition of the Gulf Games.

The logo was unveiled through a creative and interactive, non-traditional approach, using a mural executed in a “paint-by-numbers” style. Attendees and members of the public participated in gradually completing the logo by filling in the numbered sections with their designated colors, in a scene that reinforced community participation and embodied the concept of teamwork—values the Games aim to promote.

Doha will host the highly anticipated Games from 11 to 22 May 2026, with elite Gulf athletes competing in 18 sporting events across 9 sports venues.

On this occasion, H.E Sheikh Khalifa bin Khalid Al Thani, Director General of the Games, expressed his pride in unveiling the official logo, affirming that it embodies the shared meanings that unite the GCC countries and reflects the depth of historical and cultural ties among their peoples.

He noted that the logo’s design was the result of a well-considered vision aimed at translating shared Gulf values into a contemporary visual form, stressing that the choice of palm fronds was deliberate, given their deep-rooted symbolism in the region’s heritage and what they represent in terms of authenticity and unity among Gulf states.

He added that the organizing committee was keen to adopt an interactive and innovative method for unveiling the logo, allowing the public to take part in the announcement moment and reflecting the Games’ approach of engaging the community throughout its various stages. He explained that this approach aligns with the Games’ mission to strengthen ties among Gulf youth and promote values of cooperation and collective action through sport.

Sheikh Khalifa bin Khalid also confirmed that preparations for organizing the Games are proceeding according to approved plans, benefiting from Qatar’s accumulated organizational expertise in hosting major sporting events. He expressed the organizing committee’s aspiration to deliver an outstanding edition of the Gulf Games that contributes to the development of Gulf sports and further enhances Doha’s status as a leading destination for hosting regional and international sporting championships.
