Today, Tuesday, October 31, the Ministry of Sports and Youth held a press conference at its headquarters in the Lusail Multipurpose Hall, regarding the ‘Life Skills and National Sense Guide’ program in partnership with Namaa Social Center and the Maalimi Platform. The conference was attended by His Excellency Mr. Salah bin Ghanim Al Ali, the Minister of Sports and Youth, Mr. Abdulrahman Al Thani, the Director of Maalimi Platform, and Mrs. Manar Al Jaber, the Director of Community Services at Namaa Social Center.
Objective:
The program aims to empower Qatari youth with global competitiveness by providing them with both scientific and practical aspects, creating a highly skilled global workforce. It focuses on the importance of life skills in individuals’ lives, contributing to adapting to circumstances and contributing to the prosperity and development of society.
The program offers various workshops to equip youth with technological and life skills for comprehensive development in areas such as leadership, decision-making, innovation, negotiation, communication skills, ethical leadership, global awareness, and adaptation to technological advancements.
The program provides training opportunities for sixty young people in collaboration with Namaa Social Center. The training workshops will be held at the Oasis of Science and Technology over two days each week.
The program starts on November 1st and continues until January 1st, offering workshops over three months, targeting individuals aged 15 to 25 years.
First Qatari Guide:
Mrs. Manar Al Jaber emphasized the importance of the guide as the first Qatari guide, contributing to empowering Qatari youth by providing logistical support and lists of Qatari trainers in life skills. The guide is based on international and regional standards, tailored to the Qatari environment and aspirations, aiming to transition from the stage of education to lifelong learning, contributing to individual development and competence enhancement.
The guide addresses twelve key skills in four main dimensions: cognitive, effective, individual, and social. It reflects the analytical research studies on the status of youth in Qatar and their response, aligning with the Sustainable Development Goals 2030 based on equality and justice.
Mr. Abdulrahman Al Thani stated that the Maalimi platform specializes in educational technology, focusing on the technological aspect as a fundamental part of skill development. In this edition, the platform will concentrate on one of the most important technological aspects: artificial intelligence and the quality of digital technology.
