Qatar Sports Club (formerly known as Al Istiqlal Club) was founded in 1961 and is one of the prominent sports Clubs in Qatar, known for its successes and competitiveness in various championships. The Club’s emblem features the yellow and black colors. The Club’s stadium, Suhaim bin Hamad Stadium, is located in the Dafna area and is one of the major stadiums where league matches and other local tournaments are held. It also hosts some of the Asian matches for teams playing in Qatar, as well as being the venue for some tournaments. The stadium has a rich history and is renowned for hosting major track and field competitions with a wonderful and distinctive track.
